Milas
Nestled in the heart of Dundee, right on 5 Whitehall Street, Milas stands as a vibrant gateway into Turkish and Mediterranean flavours, blending comfort food with culinary flair. The moment you step in, you’re welcomed by a warm, buzzing atmosphere that effortlessly straddles casual dining and tasteful elegance. Whether you're after a hearty dinner, a quick bite during lunch, or a cozy spot to sip on Turkish coffee, Milas knows how to deliver on all fronts.
Let’s talk food - because that’s where Milas really makes its mark. One of the standout dishes on the menu is the Mixed Kebab Grill, a glorious platter featuring juicy lamb shish, tender chicken shish, and smoky Adana kebab, all perfectly grilled and served alongside fluffy rice and chargrilled vegetables. If you’re more into something saucier, the Iskender with Chicken Shish drenched in spiced tomato sauce and finished with melted butter over a bed of pita is the kind of comfort that sticks with you.
For vegetarians, the Vegetarian Kebab and Hummus E Felafel offer no compromise on flavour. Think crisp falafel balls with that golden crunch outside and herby softness inside, paired with creamy hummus and warm flatbread. Or you can go for the Vegetable Pide, a boat-shaped Turkish flatbread topped generously with seasoned veggies, melty cheese, and fresh herbs - simple, yet satisfying.
One of the secret weapons at Milas is their mastery of desserts. The Baklava, layered with flaky pastry, crushed pistachios, and honey syrup, is rich without being cloying. But if you’re after something truly indulgent, the Chocolate Cake with Shaved Pistachio and Coconut is a showstopper. Moist, dense, and elegantly plated, it’s a dessert you’ll probably dream about for days.
Of course, no meal is complete without something to sip. Milas has a surprisingly extensive beverage selection for a mid-size eatery. From Turkish beer and crisp wines to signature cocktails and a well-brewed coffee and tea selection, it’s easy to find something that complements your meal. The coffee, in particular, deserves a mention - strong, aromatic, and traditionally served, it’s a lovely way to round off the experience.
What’s great about Milas isn’t just the food - it’s the experience. They offer on-site dining, takeaway, and even kerbside pickup, making it flexible for every kind of visitor. The interior is spacious, and accessibility is clearly a priority here: there’s a wheelchair-accessible entrance, seating, and toilet, which makes the venue welcoming for everyone. It's also popular for lunch and dinner, and a favorite among solo diners who just want a no-fuss, high-quality meal in a relaxed setting.
The vibe is laid-back but with that lively hum that comes from happy diners and sizzling grills in the background. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, happy to recommend dishes if you’re feeling overwhelmed by the extensive selection. If you're craving something unique and flavorful, Beyti Kebap - a seasoned minced lamb wrapped in lavash and grilled, served with yoghurt and tomato sauce - offers an exciting twist on a classic.
And for those with more eclectic tastes, the menu doesn't shy away from branching out. There’s Sea Bass for seafood lovers, Butter Chicken for those after Indian-inspired richness, and even Lasagne, giving nods to European staples. Whether you’re into mezze, meat, or modern fusion dishes, the variety keeps things interesting.
Milas is more than just a restaurant - it’s a warm culinary embrace, packed with flavor, culture, and authenticity.

Stopped in for lunch today. Incredible food, my only critique is that they don’t have one in Glasgow. The food was very fresh, we got the platter for two and the lamb topped hummus. Can’t wait to come back!
I had the most amazing experience today! The food was absolutely delicious – probably the best kebabs and grilled meat I’ve ever had. Everything was perfectly seasoned, tender, and juicy. The mix of lamb, chicken, and beef was mouthwatering, and the sides were fresh and full of flavor. The service was warm and welcoming, and the whole place had such a cozy, authentic vibe. If you’re a fan of real, flavorful grilled meat – this place is a must! Can’t wait to come back!
Recently tried the lasagna and chicken wings at this restaurant and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced. The portions were generous, leaving us more than satisfied. The baklava was another highlight, fresh and juicy. However, the fresh juices didn't quite meet our expectations, as they tasted more like standard bottled juices rather than freshly squeezed. The menu and prices need to be updated here as few items had wrong pricing on menu card as well. But overall, it’s a great spot to enjoy hearty, flavorful meals.
Excellent Turkish cuisine tasted. The lamb skewers and lamb hearts is perfectly done. Not so much about on the soups. The bread/pitas is excellent.
The food was amazing. Wonderful experience with the design and the atmosphere. Staff were helpful. Highly recommended
